Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE)
Energy security has emerged as one of the defining struggles of the 21st century. In the context of Russia–Europe power relations, natural gas and energy supply chains function not only as economic weapons, but also as strategic and geopolitical weapons.
Energy trade increasingly shapes the balance of power among major powers such as the United States, China, and Russia. Development such as geopolitical rivalries and the war between Russia and Ukraine have exposed Europe’s structural weaknesses in meeting its energy demands.
Within this committee, delegates will examine the political, economic, and strategic dimensions of energy interdependence. The discussions shall focus on how energy security influences regional stability, the role of supply diversification in reducing political risk, and the potential role of multilateral frameworks in ensuring sustainable and secure energy policy.
