Welcome to the 1910s Russian Empire… Or should we rephrase?
The Russian Empire was suffering enormous ongoing problems mainly caused by the vast World War I, which led to chain reactions in the government’s economy, politics and military. The First World War had devastated the Russian Empire’s economy; provision shortages were widespread across the entire country. Millions of soldiers had been killed, which frankly lessened the reliability towards Tsar Nicholas II.
On 8th March 1917 (23 February in the Julian Calendar), a revolution, which is the “February Revolution”, occurred in Petrograd. Due to food shortages, military mutinies and the request for withdrawal from World War I, thousands of locals and socialists started protests against the current regime, which had involved violent armed clashes with gendarmes, who are the last loyal security police of the Imperial Russian Army.
At the end of the uprising, the police force joined the revolutionaries. Thus, on March 15th, 1917, Tsar Nicholas II abdicated, leaving the ruling to his brother Michael Alexandrovich. However, he declined the power. The Romanov dynasty, which had ruled the Russian Empire for more than three centuries, evidently came to an end.
Subsequently, the Russian Provisional Government was establishment. Nonetheless, they were forced to share the power with the Petrograd Soviet, which led to the creation of “dual power”. The Russian Provisional Government controlled the formal state apparatus, whereas the Petrograd Soviet embodied tremendous influence among workers, soldiers, and local folk.
Welcome to JCC: Russian Civil War, which is an upper advanced committee!
After having been exiled twice (first to Siberia and last to Western Europe) due to his revolutionary acts, Vladimir Lenin returned to his home, Petrograd, in April 1917 to initiate a reform in Russia. He directly demanded an end to the war, the transfer of ruling power to the Petrograd Soviets, and the redistribution of the lands. Therefore, he declined the dual power and rejected cooperating with the Russian Provisional Government. Later, his ideas became famously known as the April Theses.
Later in July 1917, armed demonstrations occurred. The majority of the workers, peasants and soldiers supported the Bolsheviks. However, the demonstrations failed, which concluded with the arrestation of many Bolshevik leaders.
In August 1917, the commander-in-chief of the Russian Provisional Government, Lavr Kornilov, moved troops towards Petrograd. This attempt at a coup had failed due to the help of Bolsheviks towards the government, which increased Bolshevik popularity and reliability once again.
Finally, as the result of constant failures of the Russian Provisional Government, on November 7th 1917, under the leadership of Vladimir Lenin, Bolsheviks began the insurrection.
You will bear witness to an enthralling Joint Crisis Committee where the historical weight of the Russian Civil War will be felt; therefore, astonishing crisis procedure, fast-paced war atmosphere, and stunning crisis experience will be deeply experienced.
So, be ready to upheaval and tittivate your country into reds or purge the traitors from your country and stay loyal to the dynasty.
And you better have an answer: Are you willing to sacrifice everything you have for the cause?

One of the six Principal Organs, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), takes the lead in determining the existence of a threat to the peace or act of aggression. Established in 1945, the United Nations General Assembly’s First Committee, the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) or C1, operates from the United Nations headquarters in New York on international security and arms control, with the goal of reaching a conflict-free Earth.
A Private Military Company (PMC) is a private company which provides military forces or security services in return for a fee.
The committee will debate about the lack of resolutions related to liability and ethical limitations of the private military companies, as this lack of conceptual frameworks causes uncertainty when deciding legal and governmental actions.
The committee aims to solve this issue by establishing clear ethical frameworks and limitations.

Good Morning New Yorkers, welcome to another day in Wall Street!
In the Financial District of Lower Manhattan in New York City, the street runs eight city blocks between Broadway in the west and South Street and the East River. “Wall Street” has become a metonym for New York City and companies located there, the financial markets of the United States, the American financial services industry, and New York–based financial interests, or the Financial District.
Wall Street, arguably the world’s largest financial center, is known for its investors and stock market ecosystem.
From a financial perspective, Wall Street has become synonymous with investment banks, securities traders, hedge funds, and portfolio managers. In 1792, initiatives launched by merchants in the area to regulate their businesses laid the foundation for what is now one of the largest stock exchanges, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Today, this district, where decisions shaping the global economy and billions of dollars in transactions take place, continues to play a key role in the growth of capital markets.
Wall Street’s iconic role is a point of reference not only for the US economy but also for investors worldwide. Many dynamics of financial markets, from stock market indices and interest rates to hedge funds and initial public offerings, are shaped on Wall Street.

Agenda Item: Discussions on the Reported Issues Regarding the Union Carbide Pesticide Plant
The Bhopal Gas Tragedy was one of the world’s worst industrial disasters which occurred on the night of 2–3 December 1984 in Bhopal, India. The main cause of damage happened when a large amount of methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas leaked from a pesticide plant that was managed by an American company on chemicals named Union Carbide Corporation, eventually affecting nearby communities and causing thousands of deaths and severe health as well as environmental consequences.
The committee will begin shortly before this tragedy happens and an important matter to note is that the urgent reports about serious safety issues at the Union Carbide pesticide plant have been received. With thousands of lives potentially at risk, the delegates will be discussing these reports and determining the necessary actions to be taken. The disaster has yet to occur and it is the delegate’s responsibility to prevent the tragedy before it is too late.

Agenda Item: The Collapse of International Trade During “The Great Depression”
The Historical United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (H-UNCTAD) focuses on one of the most significant economic crises in modern history: the collapse of international trade during the Great Depression.
Following the Wall Street Crash of 1929, the global economy entered a period of severe instability. Industrial production declined, unemployment reached unprecedented levels, financial institutions collapsed, and international trade suffered a dramatic contraction. The rise of protectionist policies, including increased tariffs and trade restrictions, further weakened economic cooperation between nations and deepened the effects of the crisis.
In this historical General Assembly, the committee explores the challenges faced by the international economic system during the Great Depression. The discussions will center around the disruption of global commerce, the decline of international cooperation, and the struggle to restore economic stability in an increasingly uncertain world.
The future of global trade depends on the decisions made during one of the most critical economic turning points of the 20th century.
